Why You Should Consider a Solar A/C System in Columbia

March 19, 2015

Summer is finally on the way and with it comes air conditioning and any needed maintenance to your system.. In the era of sustainable thinking and living, how to lower that cost in a greener way is foremost on many consumers’ minds. The question is this: Why can’t we have an air conditioning system that can keep our home cool 24/7, and not have to worry about increased energy costs or the impact on the environment?

Enter the idea of a solar assisted air conditioner. Now Midland Air Service Experts Heating & Air Conditioning knows what you’re thinking - “Someday it will happen, maybe another five years at least.” But you don’t need to wait… it’s already here, right now... today! We are happy to share with you the first integrated solar-assisted residential heating and air conditioning system: The SunSource™ Comfort System from Lennox®:

Eco-Friendly

The industry's leading solar-assisted central heat pump combines solar energy and electricity to reduce home electric usage. Chlorine-free R410A refrigerant allows outstanding comfort without incurring a costly environmental toll.

ENERGY STAR® Qualified

The system meets or exceeds U.S. EPA guidelines for energy efficiency. This advanced Lennox® system also qualifies for a federal tax credit to reduce your expense; visit the ENERGY STAR website to learn more. Don’t forget to check with your local utility provider for any state tax credit opportunities.

Extreme Comfort & Energy Efficiency

Efficiency ratings of up to 18.20 SEER and 9.70 HSPF can save you significant dollars each year compared to a standard heat pump. One solar panel facilitates freely available renewable energy to counterweight the electric usage of the heating and cooling system. A two-stage scroll compressor functions at low speed a significant amount of the time, which means it's inexpensive to operate and results in more consistent comfort. Finally, it's specifically developed to work with a Humiditrol® whole-home dehumidification system for greater comfort control.

Quiet Operation

The SilentComfort™ fan grille uses patent-pending, vortex-suppression technology to lessen the commotion of airflow exiting the unit, providing a tranquil environment. A fully insulated compressor compartment uses vibration-isolating mounts to soften the operating sound, resulting in extremely low sound pollution.

Reliable Performance

Manufactured with heavy-gauge, pre-painted steel and tested in the most extreme environments to ensure top durability, the system also comes with the original onboard cooling system diagnostic device, the Lennox® System Operations Monitor, which continuously monitors system performance and promises reliable operation and quick troubleshooting. A 10-Year Limited Warranty on compressor and all remaining covered components (not including the solar panel).

Other Factors

SunSource™ is the first product a Columbia consumer needs to consider when learning about an air conditioner or HVAC system replacement (the second being a hybrid home comfort system). While heat pumps are not for use in every all climates or regions, the environment-friendly features of the SunSource Comfort System make it the preferred system for today’s energy and cost-conscious families.
