We are making our way through the last of the weeks of winter but we still need our furnaces, especially during cool nights. Nothing is worse than turning in at night and realizing your furnace won’t start up. If this happens to you, here are a few things you can check yourself before your call Midland Air Service Experts.
Check Air Filters
You should change standard air filters each month. If you don’t, they can end up clogged, blocking air flow and causing your furnace to malfunction.
Check Your Thermostat
Start by turning the thermostat up a few degrees to get the furnace to turn on. If the true room temperature is higher than the thermostat, the furnace won’t run. Also, confirm the system switch is on “heat” or “auto.”
Check the Power
It may seem ridiculous, but confirm the power switch next to the furnace is “On.” Even gas heating equipment uses electricity so confirm the breaker has not tripped and that the power switch has not been accidently switched to the “Off” position.
If you inspect all these things and your heating equipment will still not start up, give Midland Air Service Experts a call at 803-399-7208 and we’ll come out and get you taken care of as soon as possible.
