Here’s What to Do When Your Furnace Won’t Ignite
We are getting through the last several weeks of winter but we still have to have our furnaces, especially during frigid nights. There’s not a lot that is worse than turning in at night just to find out your furnace won’t start up. If you find yourself in this situation, here are a few things you can check yourself before your call Service Experts Heating, Air Conditioning & Plumbing.
Check Air Filters
You should change standard air filters every 30 days. If you do not, they can get clogged, blocking air flow and causing your furnace to malfunction.
Check Your Thermostat
See if turning the temperature up a few degrees will get the furnace to turn on. If the actual room temperature is higher than the thermostat, the furnace won’t run. Also, confirm the system switch is on “heat” or “auto.”
Check the Power
It may seem obvious, but make sure the power switch next to the heating system is “On.” Even gas heating systems use electricity so make sure the breaker has not tripped and that the power switch was not accidently moved to the “Off” position.
If you inspect all these things and your furnace will still not turn on, give Service Experts Heating, Air Conditioning & Plumbing a call at 866-397-3787 and we’ll come out and get you heating again as soon as possible.
