Many everyday products may cause bad indoor air quality in your Columbia residence.
This includes:
- Substances in [flooring, furniture and drapes that emit fumes
- Cleaning products
- Paint
- Personal care products
- Air fresheners and candles
Though they are usually more efficient, modern homes don’t have fresh air the way older houses do. Secure weather stripping and storm doors keep inside air in and outdoor air out. This provides better energy savings, but the limited exchange of outdoor and indoor air can create contaminants building up indoors.
When this happens, a whole-house ventilation system is advised. Ventilation systems replace dirty interior air for more breathable outside air without compromising energy savings.
