A toilet that’s running constantly could be dealing with any number of issues, including a broken flapper seal, flush valve or flapper chain. In some cases it’s the handle itself that’s making the toilet run. A running toilet wastes a lot of water, so don’t hesitate to contact our plumbers at 803-399-7208.
One of the most common reasons your dishwasher isn’t draining correctly is because the drain line is clogged. The line, sometimes referred to as a drain hose, removes water from the dishwasher tub at the end of a cycle. If the drain line is clogged, water may not be able to flow properly. Contact our certified plumbers for troubleshooting and repairs.
A quick response is important if you’re dealing with a burst pipe as a result of freezing. Expert plumbers should handle broken pipe repairs, but there are several things you can do by yourself to keep the pipes from freezing up in the first place:
Open kitchen and bathroom cabinet doors to permit warmer air to circulate around the plumbing. Be sure to move any harmful cleaners and household chemicals up out of the reach of children.
Let the cold water drip from faucets served by exposed pipes. Running water through the pipe—even at a trickle—helps prevent ice from forming and freezing.
Minimize changes to the thermostat and keep your home at least 50 degrees, even after you’re not home.

Dump food scraps right away with cold water and leave the disposal on for about 30 seconds to minimize the risk of clogs. Everyone should also never put coffee grounds, eggshells, potato peels and other large food waste into the disposal, because they may restrict drainage and cause damage and bad smells.
